Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. While experience in the legal field is not required, it is preferred.Our firm has a robust civil practice; little to no criminal law is addressed. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The Legal Assistant will support attorneys with case management, document preparation, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient operation within the law office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with case management.
  • Draft, proofread, and review legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Manage filing systems and document management systems to ensure easy retrieval of information.
  • Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary information for cases.
  • Prepare case files for litigation and assist in trial preparation.
  • Maintain calendars for attorneys, scheduling appointments and court dates as needed.
  • Handle data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide executive administrative support including transcription of legal documents and maintaining office organization.
  • Collaborate with team members on various projects related to all phases of our practice.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within a law office environment, is preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures across various practice areas, preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Strong writing skills with attention to detail for drafting documents and correspondence.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
  • Experience in project management is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
