Legal Assistant

Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad has an exciting opportunity to join their Construction Defense Practice Group as a full-time Legal Assistant. This position offers the flexibility of remote work in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.

• Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience in a law office
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Adept computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Produce information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying and transmitting documents
• Proficient in drafting letters and documents, such as Notices of Hearings/Depositions and Non-Party Subpoenas
• Proficient in scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses, and other special functions
• Maintain attorney calendars by scheduling conferences, teleconferences and court hearings, recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements
• Following up on delegated assignments
