Legal Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and research support across a variety of legal practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, and more. Your energetic approach will help streamline case management, facilitate effective communication, and ensure the smooth operation of our law office. Duties

  • Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Manage legal case files and document review processes utilizing document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw.
  • Prepare, draft, proofread, and transcribe legal documents including contracts, pleadings, correspondence, and reports with precision and clarity.
  • Conduct client interviews and gather essential information to support various practice areas like landlord-tenant law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and litigation cases.
  • Organize and maintain case files through meticulous data entry and filing procedures; ensure all documentation complies with legal standards.
  • Support project management efforts by coordinating deadlines, scheduling appointments, and assisting with administrative tasks to keep operations efficient.
  • Provide executive administrative support by managing phone etiquette, organizing meetings, preparing agendas, and handling correspondence professionally.

Requirements

  • Paralegal experience or prior legal administrative experience demonstrating familiarity with law office procedures.
  • Strong research skills with proficiency in Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms.
  • Knowledge of multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, patent law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), and tribal regulations.
  • Experience with legal case management software such as PCLaw or iManage; familiarity with document review and management systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading accuracy is essential.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Effective interviewing techniques for client intake; strong communication skills for interacting professionally via phone or in person.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
