Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various areas of law, including estate planning, family law, and environmental law, among others. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects effectively, and proficiency in legal research and document management systems. The Legal Assistant will provide essential support to attorneys by assisting with case management, drafting legal documents, and ensuring that all administrative tasks are handled efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with case preparation and legal research across various practice areas such as immigration law, landlord-tenant law, and personal injury law.
  • Manage legal documents including drafting, proofreading, and reviewing contracts and pleadings.
  • Utilize document management systems like iManage and PCLaw for organizing case files and maintaining accurate records.
  • Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary information for cases.
  • Perform data entry and clerical tasks such as filing, transcription, and maintaining organized case files.
  • Coordinate project management tasks to ensure timely completion of legal assignments.
  • Utilize legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis for comprehensive research on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide executive administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing attorney calendars, and handling phone communications with professionalism.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a law office setting with a focus on legal administrative tasks.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents and correspondence.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience in conducting legal research using tools like Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Strong attention to detail for document review and proofreading tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
