The legal Assistant will support the team in managing client accounts, coordinating proposals, and ensuring smooth execution of real estate operations, with a focus on legal sector clients. Job Description
- The Legal Assistant - Real Estate supports the day-to-day activities of the lawyer(s) assigned.
- This role is responsible for document preparation and general practice administration.
- Responsible for filing of documentation, data entry and data management, correspondence, and client management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support in the efficient and effective management of the practice, scheduling appointments, file management, etc.
- Facilitate communication between lawyer, clients and external contacts
- Assist management in completing real estate files from beginning to end of transaction
- General duties including opening and maintaining files, drafting and sending correspondence, etc.
- Reviewing title reports
- Requesting title insurance
- Conducting pre due diligence tasks and reviews
- Prepare corporate documents for private lender real estate transactions.
- Preparing closing packages consisting of all documentation needed to close a transaction.
- Communicate with clients, brokers, lenders, and other law offices to complete closings.
- Ongoing verbal and written communication with lawyers, law clerks and clients.
- Manage administrative details with respect to opening/closing files.
- Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Other tasks as reasonably required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, English, Journalism or related field
- Minimum 2 year working experience in a legal matters in real estate law, and land titles
- Minimum 2 year working experience in a customer service environment
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and scheduling skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet demanding deadlines
- Demonstrated experience providing administrative support in an environment with a variety of functions
- Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to assist others
- Enjoy working in a large office and team environment
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
