Locations: Rochester, Syracuse, or Buffalo, NY
Salary: $50,000–$60,000
Schedule: Hybrid (2 remote days/week after ramp-up)

We’re seeking a detail-driven Billing Specialist to support our fast-paced accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate, proactive, and comfortable working in a high-volume environment while delivering excellent internal customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and edit client pre-bills with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Distribute pre-bills and coordinate with attorneys to ensure timely, accurate invoicing.
• Respond quickly and professionally to attorney and client billing inquiries.
• Review Work In Process (WIP) aging monthly to maintain timely billing schedules.
• Maintain up-to-date client information, including billing formats, groups, and contacts.
• Review and apply unapplied and retainer balances each month.
• Assist with special projects and provide backup support to the billing team as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of billing experience in a high-volume or automated environment preferred.
• Experience with Aderant or similar legal/accounting billing software is a plus.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong customer-service orientation with a proactive approach.
