JOB SUMMARY:
The Legal Counsel is primarily responsible for providing legal advice and support Leadership in variety of areas, which may include contracts issues, HR/labor law, disputes/litigation and medico-legal matters.
KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Advises the General Counsel and other leadership of the institution regarding Sidra policies, programs, practices, and activities that are affected by legal considerations.

Maintains a collegial approach to problem-solving and a willingness to engage in clear and transparent dialogue about both legal and non-legal issues.

Works independently to manage timing and action plans for completing division’s functions and preparing correspondence, reports and other documents ahead of need.

Works independently to perform duties including creating and preparing routine materials, verifying, and editing all materials for accuracy and clarity.

Communicating with and managing any third-party bodies such as external counsel.

Supervising internal group for litigation and dispute management.

Researches and analyses law sources and complex legal issues, and prepares briefs/memorandums.

Reviews and prepares amendments to standard terms and conditions, if applicable.

Drafting, reviewing, approving and negotiating various contracts and agreements as needed.

Drafts and reviews letters and other legal documents, as needed.

Peer supports members within the Legal Department within the team about various area of law and practices.

Ability to quick study, in some areas of the law that affect the institution and eager to learn areas of the law in which expertise is lacking.

Collaborating with management and external law firms to devise efficient defense strategies.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in law
Experience
5+ years in legal role
