Minimum Requirements
- LLB or LLM in Law
- Minimum 5 years of relevant post qualification experience in international legal departments
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to evolve in an international and challenging environment
- Ability to handle several tasks with pragmatism and reactivity
- Strong team spirit and ability to collaborate cross functionally
- Fluent in English and Arabic, and able to negotiate and draft contracts in both languages
Responsibilities Legal Function
- Handle all legal affairs and manage legal risks within the region, with a strong focus on reviewing proposals, offers, and contracts
- Handle corporate matters for all Bureau Veritas legal entities within the area
- Provide legal support for Mergers & Acquisitions and Joint Ventures
- Handle litigation matters with the support of external lawyers when required and manage insurance matters in coordination with the Group Risk and Insurance Department
- Assist with debt collection matters
Compliance Function
- Coordinate with group compliance teams to align compliance objectives, processes, and goals, ensuring consistent practices across the organization
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of compliance activities, audits, and investigations
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance related matters, promoting a culture of integrity, compliance, and transparency throughout the organization
- Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, including privacy laws, international sanctions, and export control rules
