About Vandanam

Vandanam is a mission-driven organization committed to building value-based, culturally rooted, and globally relevant initiatives through its structured verticals and long-term institutional vision.

We are in a foundational growth phase — strengthening governance, compliance, structural documentation, and strategic legal architecture to scale responsibly and ethically.

This internship is for law students who wish to contribute to nation-building frameworks, policy thinking, and institutional design — not merely transactional legal work.

Role Overview

The Legal Intern will support the organization in:

  • Drafting and reviewing foundational legal documents
  • Assisting in trust / society / Section 8 compliance matters
  • Supporting policy drafting and governance structuring
  • Reviewing MoUs, partnership agreements, NDAs
  • Researching regulatory frameworks applicable to nonprofit organizations in India
  • Assisting in intellectual property structuring (logo, publications, curriculum frameworks)
  • Contributing to drafting organizational policies (Code of Conduct, Volunteer Policy, Data Protection, Ethics Charter, etc.)

This role involves both legal research and institution-building documentation.

Key Responsibilities1. Governance & Compliance

  • Research Public Trust Act / Society Registration / Section 8 Company regulations
  • Assist in drafting trustee resolutions and governance frameworks
  • Prepare compliance checklists for statutory filings

2. Policy Drafting

  • Volunteer engagement policy
  • Conflict of interest policy
  • Child protection policy (if applicable to verticals)
  • Data privacy and document confidentiality frameworks

3. Contractual Documentation

  • Draft and review:
  • MoUs
  • Partnership agreements
  • Internship agreements
  • Consultant contracts
  • NDAs

4. Intellectual Property

  • Trademark research
  • Copyright protection strategies
  • Documentation structuring for publications and program material

5. Strategic Legal Research

  • Comparative research on nonprofit governance models
  • Legal frameworks for scaling nonprofit initiatives globally

Who Should Apply

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are currently pursuing LL.B. (3-year or 5-year program)
  • Have strong legal research and drafting skills
  • Have interest in nonprofit law, governance, and institutional frameworks
  • Possess high ethical integrity and confidentiality standards
  • Can commit consistently (this is not a short-term certificate-focused internship)

Preferred (but not mandatory):

  • Experience in trust / NGO compliance
  • Exposure to corporate law / constitutional law
  • Interest in policy research

What You Will Gain

  • Exposure to real institutional structuring
  • Hands-on governance documentation experience
  • Founder-level strategic exposure
  • Certificate of Internship upon successful completion
  • Letter of Recommendation (based on performance and commitment)

This internship is ideal for those who want to build expertise in nonprofit legal architecture and governance design.

Important Note

This is not a routine internship.
This role demands seriousness, discretion, and long-term thinking.

If you are looking for a quick certificate or short-term engagement, this opportunity is not suitable.
