Job Overview:
We are looking for a qualified Advocate with 3-5 years of experience to manage our company's legal affairs.The ideal candidate will be a key advisor on all legal matters, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and protecting the company's interests. This role requires a blend of legal expertise, strong business acumen, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Management, Drafting & Vetting:
- Draft, review, vet, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including
- Client Agreements & Service Contracts · Vendor/Supplier Agreements
- Sub-contractor Agreements
- Joint Venture (JV) and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreements
- Lease and Property-related documents
- Standardize contract templates and clauses to improve efficiency and risk management.
2. Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management:
- Handle civil disputes, recovery matters, and other litigation.
- Manage and coordinate with external advocates and represent the company in various forums (courts, tribunals, arbitration, mediation).
- Develop strategies for dispute avoidance and resolution.
3. Advisory & Compliance:
- Provide timely and practical legal advice on matters related to:
- Company Law & Corporate Governance · HR & Labour Laws (employee contracts, disciplinary matters, statutory compliance)
- Real Estate (RERA) and Construction Laws
- Ensure the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies as required.
4. Reformatory & Preventive Actions:
- Identify potential legal risks and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Conduct legal research and keep the management updated on relevant new laws and judicial pronouncements.
- Develop and deliver legal training to other departments (e.g., HR, Projects, Procurement).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Law (LL.B) from a recognized university. A Master of Law (LL.M) will be an added advantage.
- Enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India.
- 3-5 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in a corporate law firm or as in-house counsel in the construction, infrastructure, or real estate sector.
- Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills are non-negotiable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Malayalam.
- In-depth knowledge of the Contract Act, Civil Procedure Code, Company Law, and Labour Laws.
- Proactive, business-focused, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and professional ethics
