Position Summary:

The Legal Officer will be responsible for managing and resolving all legal matters related to the company’s holiday home and short-term rental operations. This includes handling rental disputes, coordinating with police and regulatory authorities (such as DTCM), responding to complaints, and ensuring full legal compliance with all applicable laws and licensing requirements. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to safeguard the company’s interests while maintaining professional relationships with clients, tenants, and authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispute Resolution:
  • Handle all rental and tenancy disputes between guests, owners, and the company.
  • Draft, review, and send legal notices, settlement agreements, and related correspondence.
  • Represent the company in mediation and settlement discussions.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) regulations and other applicable local laws governing holiday homes.
  • Liaise with DTCM officials regarding registration, licensing, and inspection matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving short-term rental laws and implement required changes in internal processes.
  • Police & Authority Liaison:
  • Coordinate and represent the company in all police-related matters involving guests, property owners, or operational incidents.
  • Prepare and submit required reports or documentation to authorities as needed.
  • Complaints Management:
  • Investigate and resolve guest or owner complaints with a legal and compliance perspective.
  • Recommend solutions to prevent reoccurrence and ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Contracts & Legal Documentation:
  • Draft and review lease agreements, MOUs, and service contracts related to property management and rentals.
  • Ensure all documents are legally sound and protect the company’s interests.
  • Internal Support & Advisory:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to management and operational teams.
  • Conduct regular compliance training and awareness sessions for staff.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; Master’s degree or professional legal certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of legal experience in real estate, property management, or holiday home sector (UAE experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of UAE tenancy laws, DTCM regulations, and short-term rental compliance.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage).
  • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously with discretion and professionalism.
