Summary:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal staff, in the Cincinnati, OH area. The ideal candidate will have experience in a legal office environment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, edit, and format legal documents including correspondence, contracts, pleadings, and court filings
Maintain and organize case files, both physical and electronic
Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates for attorneys
Communicate with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals
File legal documents with courts and agencies in accordance with deadlines and procedures
Manage incoming and outgoing mail and handle confidential information with discretion
Maintain attorney calendars and track deadlines
Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, scanning, and billing support
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or legal studies certification preferred
2+ years of experience as a legal secretary or administrative assistant in a law firm or legal department
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and document formatting
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software (e.g., Clio, Legal Files, or similar)
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with professionalism
