LEGAL SPECIALIST/PARALEGAL

Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a driven candidate that will play a pivotal role in supporting our operations and legal team by managing a diverse array of tasks related to debt collection and legal proceedings. Your responsibilities will include preparing and organizing case files, conducting file level reviews, drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and correspondence, and assisting with the preparation for court hearings and trials. You will also be responsible for tracking case progress, managing assigned daily production timely, answering phone calls from the courts and ensuring compliance with both firm and client guidelines and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism. Prior experience in collections or a related legal field is a must. This is an in office position.

Responsibilities:

  • Calendaring and preparing for court proceedings.
  • Maintain litigation electronic databases including uploading key case documents and emails.
  • Daily handling of assigned productions and confirming all action codes and status codes assigned are completed timely and accurately.
  • Phone que handling for inbound callers assigned to the legal ops que.
  • Obtain information required to comply with requests for production of documents.
  • Maintain key case deadlines within the firm's system of record.
  • Prepare and process legal documents and business communications as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of related legal assistant experience in a corporate or law firm environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate an ability to successfully manage competing priorities, with experience creating systems to stay organized.
  • JST system a plus.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be driven, ability to multitask and work independently and as a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
