You'll be responsible for preparing cases for assignment, managing general administrative and court tasks, and providing statutory notifications. Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placementWe Also Value Clerical experience in a law office, judicial, or law enforcement environmentCustomer service experience in a law office, judicial, or law enforcement environment.The ability to read/write/speak fluently in both English and Spanish.Job Contributions Works with a team to support crime victimsEnters and retrieves case information from various databasesPerforms statistical data collection and trackingResearches and communicates case informationPrepares cases for assignment and generates corresponding case-related documentsAttend monthly Victim Compensation Board meetings and take minutes at meetingEnter decisions rendered from the Victim Compensation BoardEnter new applications in a specialized data system and build Victim Compensation claimsUpdate the Victim Compensation Board Meeting Agenda and Public Notice.Maintain compliance with the Victim Compensation Program rulesProvides reception relief/coverage; answers multi-line telephone - answers general information questions, transfers calls, takes messagesReviews an electronic minute entry folder. Retrieves and distributes electronic pleadings and minute entries. Retrieves and distributes data-based remindersGenerates notifications as required by Victim Rights statutesDevelops and maintains positive and productive working relationships with co-workers and crime victims using principles of good customer serviceCommunicates court hearing information to victimsVictim contact to inform of case-related eventsAssists in training new Legal support assistantsWorks with crime victimsWork in the presence of or with a trained canine that comforts victimsWorking Conditions Mostly office setting-cubicles in open floor planAbility to work efficiently in a high volume, fast-paced environmentRequires long periods of sitting/standing at desk/computerAbility to demonstrate attention to detail and perform duties at 90% accuracyAbility to travel to and from various county locations for meetings and trainings, utilizing personal or county vehicleAbility to lift/carry/move items weighing up to 25 poundsExposure to graphic and violent materialsA hybrid work schedule can be considered after your first 6 months of employment.
