Legal/Compliance - Bank Secrecy Act & Fraud Analyst

We’re seeking a Bank Secrecy Act & Fraud Analyst to help safeguard our credit union by supporting our BSA Officer in maintaining robust compliance and fraud prevention programs. This role is critical in ensuring our institution remains compliant with key regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), USA Patriot Act, and OFAC.

  • Investigate suspicious activity and fraud referrals using advanced transaction monitoring tools like Verafin.
  • Analyze patterns to detect and disrupt fraud rings and money laundering schemes.
  • Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk members.
  • Review and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, regulators, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on BSA/AML compliance.
  • Maintain and enhance monitoring systems and ensure data accuracy.
Here is what we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (2 years of experience = 1 year of education).
  • BSA/AML Certification required; Fraud Certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of banking or credit union experience, with at least 1 year in BSA compliance or fraud detection.
  • Strong knowledge of deposit operations, lending, and consumer banking compliance.
  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Symitar, and Verafin.

Base Pay/Salary: $31.00 - $39.00 per hour*
  • Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
