As a Level II Multi-Discipline Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and reliability of various lifting equipment and accessories. Your certifications in Lifting (LEEA certified), Drops certification, and Tubular inspection, along with your extensive knowledge of prevailing standards and regulations, will be essential as you conduct daily inspections and examinations across a range of equipment types.

  • Responsible for Inspection of Tubular and OCTG products in the yard and onsite locations.
  • Responsible for inspection of Bottom hole assembly & Down hole drilling tools in yard and onsite locations.
  • Responsible for inspection of handling/hoisting tools/rigs & mast structures in yard or onsite locations.
  • Preparation of neat rough reports & FIR’s on site.
  • Verifying and authorizing final reports to customers.
  • Utilize dimensional measurement tools, profile gauges, lead gauges, ID/OD calipers, and other relevant instruments to assess the quality and dimensional accuracy of components.
  • Required to test, examine, and ensure that lifting equipment/lifting accessories are safe before being put into or reintroduced into service.
  • Must be familiar with the prevailing standards viz-a-vis BS, ASME, ISO, API, DNV, L.E.E.A Code of practice and other relevant local or regional standards.
  • He should be capable of conducting a thorough examination of an offshore container and making recommendations with regards to those lifting accessories best suited for a given container as per DNV 2.7-1 and BS EN 12079 , if so required.
  • He should be capable of conducting thorough examination of steel framed units and cargo baskets.
  • He shall be capable of conducting a thorough examination of powered lifting equipment particularly Mobile Crane, Overhead travelling Crane and Gantry cranes.
  • He shall be capable of conducting a thorough examination of manually operated LE devices particularly chain blocks, lever blocks, cable pulling machine, hydraulic jacks, pulley blocks etc.
  • He shall be capable of conducting a thorough examination of lifting gears particularly shackles, wire rope slings, chain slings, webbing slings, swivels, eye bolts etc.
  • He shall be capable of conducting NDT techniques on lifting equipment, handling tools and Rig sub-structure and derrick mast structure as per API 4G & 8B recommended practice. In this regard, NDT training for LE inspectors will focus mainly on Magnetic Particle Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, Visual Testing, Eddy Current Testing using single or dual frequency impedance plane graphical output EC detectors, Ultrasonic Thickness Gaging and Ultrasonic Flaw Detection.
  • Be capable of supervising and providing hands-on training to trainees in the field.

LEVEL OF AUTHORITY

  • Authorized to independently conduct NDT, DROPS and Lifting equipment / accessories inspections for which training has been received as well as sign and issue inspection reports/certificates against the same.
  • Authorized to supervise field inspections for level I NDT inspectors, LE trainees and helpers.
  • Authorized to quarantine any defective item and duly designate/mark the same as such.
  • Authorized to stop any unsafe conditions if observed in the workplace.
