Job Description:
The Information Literacy & AI Librarian supports the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into information literacy instruction, research support, and student learning initiatives. The position focuses on strengthening students' abilities to critically evaluate AI-generated content, understand ethical and academic integrity considerations, and use emerging technologies effectively in academic contexts.
Working collaboratively with the Instructional Technologies Librarian and other library colleagues, this position contributes to the evaluation and instructional application of AI tools that support teaching and learning. The librarian partners with faculty to develop course-aligned instructional materials and embed information literacy and AI-related competencies into coursework in alignment with the SUNY General Education Information Literacy Core Competency.
This position will also serve as liaison librarian to one of the Schools at the college (such as the School of Business and Entrepreneurial Studies), based on the candidate's expertise and the library's needs. The librarian acts as the main point of contact between members of the School (faculty, students, and staff) and the library and is responsible for coordinating the library's engagement, instruction, course-aligned collection development, and research services for that School.

Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a range of $59,800 to $66,700 and is based on the factors mentioned.

This position involves primarily sedentary work, including prolonged periods of computer use and keyboarding. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. The position may occasionally involve lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds. Work is performed in a typical office environment with no adverse conditions. Occasional travel between campus buildings or to other local or out-of-town locations for meetings or conferences may be required.
