Job Summary:

Do you enjoy helping others with challenging tasks? If so, then Kalamazoo Valley Community College may have the ideal part-time position for you.

Library Aides work as part of a customer service team with a focus on helping students, including college-level research and writing. This position assists users with various library and college resources and services.

Specific duties include:

Circulation, shelving, and maintenance of physical library materials.
Assisting users with library technology including copiers, scanners, computers and printers.
Assisting users with library resources, including physical and electronic collections.
Staffing the library service desk.
Assisting in the supervision of library work study students.

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, as is a working knowledge of current computer hardware and applications used in post secondary education and the ability to help library users with a wide variety of information needs at various service points in the library.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Prior library work experience and knowledge of library practices and procedures is preferred.

A minimum of two years post-secondary education is preferred.

Physical Demands:

Bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods of time.

Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.

Work Hours:

Monday - Thursday, 2 - 7 pm with Saturday shifts from 10 am - 2 pm during the Fall and Winter semester.
