About This Role
Operating from our unified service desk, you will serve as the first point of contact for the community. You will bridge the gap between traditional circulation and modern information services by:

Public Assistance: Helping patrons locate materials, answering research inquiries, and explaining library policies and procedures clearly.

Circulation Management: Handling the check-in/out process, processing holds and managing book drops.

Technical Support: Troubleshooting basic computer and printer issues while assisting patrons with faxing, copying, and navigating their personal devices.

Collection Maintenance: Keeping our resources in top shape by shelving materials accurately, running inventory reports, and inspecting items for damage.

Programming & Growth: Supporting library events and participating in community outreach initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
8th grade education & 1 year Customer service experience
Preferences
-
Experience working with the public in retail, library, or office environment.

Experience organizing materials in an established manner
-
Experience using office equipment including computers, printers, copiers, cash register, fax

Experience using software programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
-
Experience troubleshooting computers/printers/mobile devices.

Experience working both independently and as part of a team.

Bi-lingual English/Spanish
Special Requirements:
Ability to push and pull heavy book carts, reach overhead, bend and squat. Must be able to lift and carry at least 10 pounds. The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule
Central Library is open Monday through Wednesday 10am – 8pm, Thursday through Saturday 10am – 5 pm. Selected candidate must be available during open library hours including nights and weekends. This position is for 20 hours per week.
Hiring Salary Range
$19.41- $24.88 / hourly
