Summary

To operate both the main circulation desk and the reserve desk and to provide support to the unit's day-to-day procedures and operations.

Essential Functions

  • Assisting patrons at public service points in person and on the phone, respond to basic inquiries
  • Check items out and in through an automated library system
  • Locate/re-shelve items using various classification systems; prepare/scan material for reserve
  • Perform basic financial transactions
  • Maintain confidentiality of patron records and related information
  • Assist with gathering data for statistics
  • Perform routine clerical tasks, such as packing and delivering items

Minimum Qualifications

  • Public service experience; good interpersonal skills
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Ability to multi-task; ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a Windows environment

Additional Information

  • Must be available to start for summer. Evenings and weekends may be required.
