Library Clerk

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Library Clerk to join our library team. This role involves supporting daily library operations, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent service to library patrons. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, with experience in library systems and data management. Duties

• Assist patrons with locating materials, using databases, and navigating the integrated library system
• Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain current records of library materials and user accounts
• Manage filing systems for physical and digital materials, ensuring efficient retrieval and storage
• Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, guiding research efforts, and supporting library programs
• Support data collection initiatives for library usage statistics and research projects
• Conduct routine maintenance of the library’s databases and software systems to ensure smooth operation
• Assist with the organization of library events, workshops, and community outreach activities

Experience

• Strong writing skills for documentation, reports, and communication with patrons
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with diverse patrons and team members
• Demonstrated organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently
• Proficiency in typing and computer skills, including software troubleshooting and research techniques
• Previous experience in customer service or library services is a plus

Pay: $9.00 per hour
