TITLE: LIBRARY TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT (LTA)
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
BILINGUAL (SPANISH) PREFERRED

Bachelor's Degree preferably in a computer-related and/or information science field; and/or three years of experience in a library or computer-related field preferred.

Must meet State Education requirements for student interaction.

Demonstrates a friendly, customer-service approach to assisting both students and staff.

Ability to work and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members.

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while working with interruptions.

Self-directed and self-motivated in job-related tasks, possessing good problem-solving and organizational skills.

Ability to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and learn technology devices and library management systems.

Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the use of the English language in oral and written forms.

Ability to perform specialized clerical tasks with limited supervision and assume clerical responsibility.

Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and handle, as well as lift loads of books and other materials (up to 35 pounds).
POSITION SUMMARY:
The LTA is responsible for providing assistance to students, teachers, classified staff, and administrators in the day-to-day training, support, and implementation of technology skills needed to implement curricula, digital age learning resources, productivity tools, and standardized district technology-based systems. Additionally, this position assists in the implementation and administration of technology-delivered assessment programs. The LTA also assists the librarian in the full utilization of services, materials, and resources offered to students and staff through the library and provides support for resource distribution and management.
REPORTS TO:Building Principal in collaboration with the Director of Innovation
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support for students and staff at the building level as a partner in the TPACK support structure.

Assist in implementing programs and services offered by the library.

Use established procedures to support instruction, including, but not limited to:
-
Use the library system to access materials, resources, and equipment.
-
Maintain circulation records and requests for materials.
-
Assist in maintaining inventory of materials, resources, and equipment.
-
Order and coordinate materials from other schools and public libraries to support instruction.
-
Assist the librarian with day-to-day library operations.
-
Assist in student and staff distribution and collection of resources.
-
Maintain overdue records and assist in assessing materials fees.
-
Assist in the coordination of library volunteers.
-
Plan and provide technology tools and skills training for staff.
-
Provide building-level support for basic software and hardware issues.
-
Schedule and facilitate computer-based student testing.
-
Provide training to staff in creating, maintaining, and updating online content.
-
Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
The individual in this position operates and maintains a variety of technology devices. The nature of this position requires an ability to maintain confidential information and the demonstration of ethical and professional conduct at all times.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: (completed by the Office of Human Resources)
Hourly Rate Starting Range:
$28.87-$30.64 (25-26 rates; Compensation will be updated in accordance with the finalized collective bargaining agreement currently under negotiation).
