Licensed Child Mental Health Therapist

LaunchPad Counseling is seeking an independently licensed therapist to provide outpatient therapy primarily to children and adolescents.

This position may be part-time or full-time. Clinicians choose their own working hours, although afternoon and early-evening availability is generally needed to develop a full caseload. LaunchPad provides referrals, billing and administrative support so clinicians can focus on their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient therapy primarily to children and teens (and adults if preferred).
  • Complete assessments, treatment plans and progress notes accurately and promptly
  • Maintain a caseload of at least 15 completed weekly appointments for part-time employment or a standard full-time caseload of approximately 22 or more completed weekly appointments
  • Participate in one monthly virtual staff meeting
  • Participate in optional monthly clinical consultation

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy or a related field
  • Active, independent Virginia license as an LPC, LCSW or LMFT
  • Previous experience providing therapy to children or adolescents
  • Ability to provide in-person services at our Richmond office

Preferred

  • Training or experience in play therapy
  • Experience working with clients from diverse racial, cultural, family and LGBTQ+ backgrounds

Compensation and benefits

Estimated annual compensation ranges from $55,000 to $85,000, depending on the clinician’s chosen caseload and number of completed appointments. Clinicians maintaining a standard full-time caseload can expect to earn approximately $75,000 or more annually, with increased compensation for appointments completed above the standard full-time caseload. Clinicians are also compensated for late cancellations and no-shows when the practice’s cancellation policy applies.
