Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling and mental health support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Your expertise will help clients navigate their recovery journey through evidence-based practices, compassionate care, and personalized treatment plans. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluation using ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems, to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based modalities.
  • Develop and implement tailored addiction treatment plans that incorporate psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and case management strategies.
  • Facilitate child & family counseling sessions to support family involvement in recovery processes.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management techniques and crisis intervention protocols to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical terminology appropriately.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate home & community care services and ensure continuity of care across settings such as hospitals or outpatient clinics.
  • Participate in data collection efforts for research purposes and contribute to quality improvement initiatives related to behavioral health and addiction medicine.

Experience

  • Licensed as a Clinical Addiction Specialist with current certification/license in good standing.
  • Proven experience in addiction counseling, mental health counseling, or behavioral health settings—preferably within hospital or community care environments.
  • Demonstrated skills in patient care, intake procedures, diagnostic evaluation, and medical record keeping aligned with HIPAA standards.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and medical documentation best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with crisis management, behavior management techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and PTSD care is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in individual and group therapy modalities including social work principles and case management practices.
