The Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) is accepting applications for the full-time position of Electrician at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT. When applying, please indicate your E1 or E2 license number in the "Licenses and Professional Certificates" section of your application.
ABOUT THIS ROLE: This position is responsible for performing a full range of highly-skilled electrical duties, including, but not limited to:
- Indoor and outdoor lighting repairs utilizing lifts and aerial equipment.
- General building electrical repairs and installations.
- Repair and maintenance of airfield lighting systems on runways, taxiways, and aprons as well as obstruction and beacon lighting on towers.
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of motor and control wiring for systems including energy management, HVAC, sump and wastewater ejector pumps, emergency generators, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, passenger loading bridges and baggage conveyor systems.
- Operation and maintenance of building switchgear.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- One-hour response time when called into work.
- This position requires a valid driver's license.
- Travel within the state to other CAA-owned airports and facilities is required.
- This position is categorized as Emergency Support Services/Essential Staff. Must be willing and able to work during emergency closures/delayed openings due to inclement weather or for significant events that affect operations.
- Applicants must be willing to respond to system and equipment emergencies whenever their services are needed, to include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Incumbents may be required to work Airside or Landside snow removal during winter months from November 1 through April 30, which may be for extended periods.
- An individual serving in this position must be able to successfully undergo a through background and security screening, physical examination including pre-employment drug screening, fingerprinting and maintain required security clearance during the duration of employment. Incumbents in this class must obtain Bradley movement area certification, allowing them to independently operate vehicles and equipment on Airfield movement areas while effectively communicating with Air Traffic Control for proper clearance. Movement area certification must be maintained during the duration of employment.
