Licensed Esthetician

Job Title: Part-Time Licensed Esthetician

We're looking for an Esthetician to join the KBB Team!

This is currently a part-time position, but with so much room to grow here at Kara's Beauty Barn!

ABOUT US

We're a cozy, bohemian day spa with high demand nestled between North Bellingham and Ferndale and have won Bronze for the Best of the Northwest multiple times. We have one Esthetician taking her life on the road in August and another one retiring later this year, so we need more healing hands on deck!

We currently have 4 Estheticians, A Permanant Make-Up Artist and 2 Massage Therapist sharing 3 private service rooms and 1 non-private (Lash Tints, Brow Laminations, Permanent Make-up, Injections etc.) service space.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidate is a self-starter with an active WA State Esthetics License and experience with:

• Hair Removal with sugar, hard and soft wax (Brazilians, full body waxing, full body sugaring)
• Facials
• Peels
• Lash Tints, Lash Lifts, Brow Laminations
• Add-on services like Gua Sha, Microneedling, Dermaplane, Nanoinfusion, Microcurrent, and more.
• Body Treatments (Scrubs, Wraps, Foot Soaks) experience is a plus!
• Spray Tan and Make-Up Application experience is a plus!
• Existing clientele is a plus!

Other Duties:

When not in service you will be expected to help with laundry, tidy up rooms and spaces, promote yourself and the business on social media, and other assigned duties.

Ideal Candidate should:

• Keep a clean and stocked room, leaving the space better than when you arrived.
• Have familiarity with or eagerness to learn and promote our product lines quickly – Lira Clinical, Our very own KBB products, Vital Body, Farmhouse Fresh, OM, Banyan Botanicals, Jane Iredale and more. Selling products and promoting retail sales is an important part of our Esthetician's job.
• Enjoy social media presence, posting, promoting and sharing about our business.
• Be passionate about their job! Someone who knows and pays attention to client needs first and foremost, with an emphasis on skin evaluation & education. The skincare industry can get very "anti-aging, anti-sun, anti-this and that" here at KBB we are always PRO client!
• Cooperate with and report to administration on any arising issues.
• Apply best practices and stay up to date with industry trends and training.
• Maintain KBB workplace culture consistent with the vision, mission and values. We strive to be our client's home away from home, providing them with a safe space to feel their most beautiful selves while still providing effective and knowledgeable skincare. Everyone belongs at Kara's Beauty Barn.
• Be willing to participate in Beauty Barn events! We love our events!
• Promote the other service providers within the business. We offer Permanent Makeup, Injections, Massage, Spray Tans and a variety of other services!
• Implore trustworthiness to utilize your time to further yourself within the business when you don’t have a client. Social Media, cleaning and organizing, etc...
• Have the ability to focus on long term services and client retention. Membership sign-ups are a huge part of our business at KBB. It provides profit stability month to month as well as the opportunity to make great impact on your client's skin concerns.

AVAILABILITY:

This position has the potential to GROW!

• Immediate coverage needed on Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Saturday's somewhere between 9am-8pm, with a minimum availability of 6 hours/day. Possibility of expanding to Monday's. We will have more hours and days available for you, come August.
• Optional hours: We have some admin/retail hours available if you are open to limited admin work while you are getting started here. ie laundry, answering phones, booking appointments, etc.
• "On-Call" for Groups/Parties/Couples Massage Requests - We book a good amount of group/couples services here at KBB so flexibility with availability is helpful!

PAY

This position starts at $20/hour + Tips. You will also receive a 20% commission on your services and 15% commission on product sales.

After the 90-day probationary period we will meet and look at your booking percentage and retail to service ratios and adjust from there.

Please note we are appointment only. Estimated service hours are not guaranteed. However, we do have a steady clientele, and you will be inheriting a large portion of our current Esthetician's client's with one leaving in August and another later this year.
