Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lift Technician proficient in the maintenance, repair, installation, and modernization of Elevators, Escalators, and Travelators. The ideal candidate possesses comprehensive technical knowledge of various brands and types of vertical and horizontal transportation systems and is committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and timely service.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Servicing: Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on elevators, escalators, and travelators according to company standards, manufacturer specifications, and safety regulations.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults promptly. Execute effective repairs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment functionality.
- Installation & Modernization: Assist or lead in the installation of new lift systems and the modernization of existing units, ensuring work adheres to project timelines and safety codes.
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all national and local safety codes (e.g., ASME A17.1, EN 81, or local equivalent) and company safety protocols. Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Customer Interaction: Professionally interact with clients and building managers, providing clear explanations of work performed and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Record Keeping: Accurately complete and submit all required documentation, including service reports, time sheets, and parts used, utilizing mobile service management tools.
- Call-Out Response: Participate in the on-call rotation schedule to respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and entrapments outside of normal business hours.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a Lift Technician or Elevator/Escalator Mechanic. Experience must cover a broad range of equipment, including both elevators (traction and hydraulic), escalators, and travelators (moving walkways).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical circuits, schematics, mechanical systems, control logic, safety circuits, and VFD/drive systems specific to vertical transportation.
- Certifications: Relevant technical certification or vocational training in electromechanics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using specialized diagnostic tools, multimeters, and standard trade equipment.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent time management, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to travel to various job sites.
