About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Rigging & Lifting Manager to oversee all heavy lift and rigging operations across our marine and offshore projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe execution of complex lifting operations, developing lift plans, and maintaining the highest standards of rigging safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lift Planning & Management: Develop, review, and approve complex lift plans for offshore and shipyard operations, including tandem lifts and critical lifts.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor rigging supervisors, lift planners, and rigging crews across multiple projects.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all rigging and lifting operations comply with company HSE policies and international standards (ISO, LOLER, API).
  • Equipment Management: Oversee inspection, certification, and maintenance of all rigging equipment and lifting gear.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide expert technical advice on rigging methodologies, load calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Procedure Development: Develop and implement rigging and lifting procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and approve subcontractors and service providers for specialized lifting services.
  • Audit & Inspection: Conduct regular audits of rigging operations and equipment to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Training: Coordinate and monitor training programs for rigging personnel to maintain competency standards.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response procedures for lifting-related incidents.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in rigging and lifting operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role in offshore/marine construction.
  • Extensive experience in:
  • Offshore heavy lift operations
  • Shipyard lifting activities
  • Complex tandem lifts
  • Lifting equipment certification processes
  • In-depth knowledge of international lifting standards and regulations.

Required Certifications:

  • Lifting Equipment Engineering Certification (LEEA)
  • OPITO/RUK Rigging & Lifting Competence
  • NEBOSH/IOSH Certification
  • Offshore survival certificates (BOSIET/HUET)
  • Crane Operator/Lift Planner Certification (preferred)

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in lift planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Advanced knowledge of load dynamics and structural integrity
  • Experience with crane selection and capacity calculations
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods
