Our Tier 1 Civil Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Lifting Supervisor to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on a new high rise build project. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Lifting Supervisor on large scale new build projects and have worked with recognised main contractors in the UAE previously
This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 month contract position as an outsource employed by J10 Consulting.
There is an option to transfer to staff after 6 months should it suit all parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee lifting operations on-site, ensuring they are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, local laws, and international standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure lifting operations are conducted in full compliance with health and safety regulations, including conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures to prevent accidents or incidents.
- Equipment Management: Monitor the condition and maintenance of lifting equipment (e.g., cranes, hoists, slings, etc.), ensuring all machinery is fit for use, properly inspected, and serviced according to schedules.
- Team Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of riggers, crane operators, and other lifting personnel. Provide training and guidance on lifting procedures, safety protocols, and the proper use of equipment.
- Lift Plans and Procedures: Develop, review, and implement detailed lifting plans, including the assessment of load weights, equipment requirements, and rigging configurations. Ensure all plans are approved before execution.
- On-Site Coordination: Coordinate lifting operations with other construction activities to minimize disruptions and ensure timely project delivery. Liaise with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth and efficient lifting operations.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation: Document any lifting incidents or near-misses, conducting investigations as necessary. Develop corrective actions and ensure that safety protocols are revised accordingly.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all required lifting documentation (inspection records, permits, and licenses) are completed and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports to the project manager on the status of lifting operations, highlighting any concerns, risks, or delays. Maintain clear and effective communication with the site team and stakeholders.
