We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lifting Supervisor (Appointed Person) to oversee, plan, and execute all lifting activities in compliance with QCS 2014/2024, Ashghal, and international safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and approve lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments for all lifting activities
- Ensure all lifting operations comply with QCS, Ashghal, and LEEA guidelines
- Select appropriate cranes, lifting gear, and accessories based on load calculations and site conditions
- Coordinate with site engineers, HSE teams, and crane operators for safe lifting execution
- Supervise critical and complex lifts, ensuring adherence to approved procedures
- Verify certification and inspection status of cranes, rigging equipment, and lifting accessories
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure workforce awareness of lifting safety practices
- Investigate lifting incidents/near misses and implement corrective actions
- Maintain proper documentation for all lifting activities as per project and client requirements
Required Qualifications
- LEEA-accredited certification for Appointed Person – Lifting Operations (Mandatory)
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or relevant field
- Valid third-party certification (LEEA / CITB / NPORS or equivalent preferred)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in lifting operations within major infrastructure or construction projects in Qatar
- Proven experience working on Ashghal projects is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of QCS lifting regulations, BS/EN standards, and LOLER practices
- Experience in handling heavy lifting, critical lifts, and multi-crane operations
Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in lift planning and load calculations
- Knowledge of crane charts, rigging techniques, and ground bearing pressure assessments
- Excellent understanding of HSE regulations and risk mitigation
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
