Line Staff / Kitchen Staff – Job CriteriaQualifications & Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage but not always required (entry-level acceptable).
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen tools/equipment.
- Strong time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and support senior kitchen staff.
- Willingness to learn and take on various tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in basic food preparation (cutting, washing, chopping, portioning).
- Support line cooks and chefs with mise en place and service requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area, equipment, and utensils.
- Follow safety procedures and hygiene standards at all times.
- Properly store food items and ensure FIFO practices.
- Help receive and organize deliveries and stock supplies.
- Assist in plating and assembling dishes under supervision.
- Dispose of waste properly and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.
