Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will assist a Sr. Trial Lawyer with court and trial preparation.

Duties

  • Assist Attorney on a day to day tasks relating to litigation
  • Assist Attorney on trial preparation, this involves organizing exhibits, preparing trial notebooks, and gathering evidence for attorneys case.
  • Assist Attorney in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials and conferences
  • Transcribing and proofreading of legal documents
  • Maintain and organizing electronic case files and update case management system with status information
  • Prepare court papers such as motions, subpoenas and other legal documents for court filing
  • Timely file court documents with various court administration, including E-filing.
  • Scheduling of hearings, pre-depositions, depositions, mediations, conferences
  • Maintain Attorney's calendar to track meeting, hearings, depositions, court dates and other due dates.
  • Compiling and organizing documents, preparing binders and/or folders
  • Responsible for scheduling and calendaring
  • Communicate effectively with opposing counsel, clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters.
  • Enter Attorney's time according to Firm billing practices in our case management system.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Trial Legal Secretary or in a similar role within a law office is preferred.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for client interaction and documentation preparation.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail is required.

  • Strong organizational skills,

  • Experience with E-Filing system in State and Federal courts and Florida's E Portal
  • Understanding of Federal and Florida Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Litigation process experience
  • Trial prepatation experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced enviornment and staying calm under pressure of mutilple deadlines
  • Detailed oriented
  • Outlook experience
  • Computer skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
