Compensation: $105,000- $120,000 base salary (DOE) + monthly performance bonuses + healthcare insurance stipend

We are expanding our Habitability Department and are seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced trial attorneys and help shape a practice area that holds landlords and management companies accountable for unsafe or unlivable housing conditions.

About the Habitability Department

We are looking for an ambitious attorney who wants to sharpen their litigation skills, handle cases independently, and perform in a client facing - results driven role. This role will handle their own case load and assist the Habitability Department Head on some of our largest cases. This is a great opportunity to learn under experienced attorneys, help tenants who are stuck in uninhabitable conditions, and make a great living while working for a firm that seeks to be the best and deliver the best results for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a full caseload of habitability matters from intake through resolution.
  • Conduct client interviews, investigations, discovery, depositions, negotiations, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Appear for court hearings and communicate with opposing counsel.
  • Collaborate with senior partners, support staff, and experts to develop winning case strategies.
  • Maintain strong client communication and provide compassionate, client-centered representation.

Qualifications

  • Bar Admission: Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Experience: Habitability law experience strongly preferred, but not required.

Minimum of 1 year of civil litigation experience required (personal injury, employment, landlord-tenant, or related fields).

  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically.
  • Ability to learn quickly and be independent.
  • A team player attitude, no job too big or too small.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Tech Skills: Familiarity with Slack, Filevine, Dropbox, and other legal tools preferred.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Hybrid Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Downtown Los Angeles office with flexibility for remote work).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $105,000- $120,000 base salary (DOE) + monthly performance bonuses + healthcare insurance stipend

Interview Process
