Our client, a reputable law firm, is seeking
two experienced Litigation Attorneys
—one for the Los Angeles headquarters and another for the Orange County office. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for
end-to-end case management
, excluding trial and arbitration presentation. The ideal candidate will have strong medical malpractice litigation experience, deep understanding of medical and legal principles, and the ability to develop effective case strategy while working collaboratively with trial attorneys and claims teams.
This role requires strong independent judgment, the ability to mentor and guide staff counsel, and the capability to manage complex litigation activities efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborate with the trial attorney to formulate discovery and investigation strategy.

Obtain concurrence with the Claims Specialist on defense preparation.

Prepare and draft pleadings, lawsuits, and motions as needed.

Prepare and respond to all forms of discovery.

Attend court appearances, hearings, and related legal proceedings.

Prepare cases for trial or arbitration.

Share knowledge and best practices with fellow attorneys.

Ensure cost-effective defense strategies and case workup.

Respond to hotline inquiries from the Claims Department.

Assist trial/lead attorneys with report preparation for Claims at every stage of litigation.

Comply with internal Defense Attorney Guidelines.

Represent CAP/MPT physicians during deposition-only cases.
Education & Experience Requirements

J.D. Degree from an accredited institution.

License to practice law in California (active and in good standing).

3-6 years of medical malpractice litigation experience.

Strong knowledge of medicine, law, and medical malpractice litigation issues.
