Litigation Attorney (Houston)

We are an 18-attorney, mid-sized Insurance Defense and Civil Litigation law firm located in Houston, Texas, seeking a Texas-licensed Litigation Attorney to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office position (it is NOT remote).

Qualifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• 1+ year of civil litigation experience in Texas preferred (1st years can apply!)
• Candidates with 2+ years of experience preferred
• First-year attorneys will be considered
• Attorneys with experience in the Public Defender’s Office or District Attorney’s Office are encouraged to apply

Practice Areas:
Our firm focuses on the defense of:

• Catastrophic injury claims
• Automobile and trucking accidents
• Construction defect litigation
• Premises liability
• Real estate litigation
• Commercial litigation

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze new client matters and identify key legal issues
• Prepare status reports to insurance carriers to summarize liability, damages and exposure
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Issue and respond to written discovery
• Prepare for and take/defend depositions
• Argue motions and attend court hearings and mediations
• Prepare cases for trial and participate in trial proceedings

Billable Requirement:

• 2,000 billable hours annually
• Bonus compensation available for hours billed above the requirement

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range: $120,000 – $150,000, depending on experience
