Job description:

Kienle Law, PC is a small boutique civil litigation firm seeking a full-time Paralegal with specialized experience in medical record management, subpoenas, and drafting medical chronologies. Paralegal training and relevant experience are required. We offer a relaxed work environment with flexible hours. Candidates must have experience in court calendaring, filing, and drafting pleadings. Experience with OSHA appeal work is a plus. Kienle Law offers particular expertise in responding to and contesting OSHA citations, as well as assisting employers in navigating and complying with the complex standards, regulations, policies, and interpretations under the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and state OSHAs (such as Cal/OSHA).

Essential Job Functions

• Manage and analyze medical records, and draft detailed medical chronologies.
• Conduct legal research.
• Draft initial pleadings, motions, and e-file with the court.
• Aid attorneys in drafting and responding to interrogatories and other discovery requests.
• Assist in responding to discovery, working directly with clients to gather all necessary information.
• Prepare documents for production to the opposing party and handle documents produced by the opposing party.
• Draft, issue, and manage subpoenas.
• Summarize and index discovery documents, medical records, and billing summaries.
• Coordinate between clients and attorneys to gather documents and respond to information requests.
• Perform some administrative duties (calendaring, organizing case files, managing discovery deadlines, appeal deadlines, etc.).
• Maintain routine communications with clients and attorneys about case status and preparation.
