Litigation Paralegal - Insurance Defense

Galloway’s Houston Office is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal. This is not an entry level position. We are seeking applicants who have worked in defense law firms with experience working with insurance companies and their guidelines.

SKILLS REQUIRED for related tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Extensive computer and database expertise
• Billing Experience a MUST. This candidate must have working knowledge of billing his/her work performed in an insurance defense law firm. Billing on a daily basis.
• Self-starter and resourceful
• Highly organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
• Ability to do legal research and prepare initial case assessments
• Ability to organize file materials
• Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules (TRCP, FRCP, local rules etc.), procedures, and practices
• Experience needed to properly create and maintain logs for production, medical records, etc.
• Experience needed for ordering and summarizing medical and other case records per guideline requirements
• Experience needed for preparing billing summaries
• Experience needed for summarizing depositions
• Drafting of various notices and orders
• Drafting of discovery responses upon request
• Trial preparation
• Must be detail-oriented, skilled at working independently as well as in a team setting in an active practice with various Shareholders, Associates and all other levels of support staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 - $37.50 per hour
