LNG Project Accountant

OSPE Floor is seeking an experienced LNG Project Accountant to join our finance team in Al Rayyan, Qatar. In this crucial role, you will manage the financial operations and reporting for LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) projects, ensuring efficient financial planning, tracking, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project accounting, preferably within the energy or LNG sector, with expertise in cost control, financial analysis, and project performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and track financial aspects of LNG projects, ensuring accurate accounting for costs, revenues, and capital expenditures
• Develop and maintain financial models for LNG project budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Prepare project-specific financial reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS), capital expenditures (CAPEX), and operational expenses (OPEX)
• Monitor project budgets and timelines, ensuring financial performance aligns with project goals and deadlines
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate financial data on project progress and expenditures
• Perform regular variance analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities to improve project profitability
• Ensure accurate and timely billing, including progress billing and final billing upon project completion
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and industry-specific accounting regulations in the LNG sector
• Provide financial advice and recommendations to senior management to optimize resource allocation and mitigate financial risks
• Assist in preparing financial documentation for audits and reporting requirements for internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven experience as a Project Accountant, preferably within LNG, oil & gas, or energy sectors
• Strong knowledge of project accounting principles, cost management, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (experience with project management software is a plus)
• Solid understanding of IFRS and financial regulations relevant to LNG and energy projects
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide clear financial reporting

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working on large-scale LNG projects or in the energy sector
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIMA, or equivalent
• Familiarity with LNG market dynamics and project development cycles
• Knowledge of contract terms, procurement processes, and capital project financials
