Job Purpose:

Responsible for executing local procurement activities to support production and operational requirements. The role focuses on translating technical and engineering specifications into effective purchasing actions, ensuring materials and services are sourced from reliable local suppliers at optimal cost, quality, and lead time. The position acts as the key link between technical departments and suppliers to ensure full compliance with engineering and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

• Review and process purchase requisitions, verifying technical specifications with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.

• Translate engineering and production requirements into clear and accurate supplier specifications.

• Evaluate supplier quotations to ensure alignment with drawings, BOQs, and required standards.

• Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations to identify the most suitable local suppliers.

• Negotiate with suppliers on prices, delivery terms, and technical conditions to achieve cost-effective outcomes.

• Identify, assess, and recommend local suppliers based on capability, reliability, and compliance with company standards.

• Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams during supplier assessments, audits, and qualification processes.

• Issue and manage purchase orders through the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to agreed terms.

• Monitor and follow up on order progress to secure on-time delivery and resolve any supply issues or technical discrepancies.

• Coordinate with Planning and Production teams to align material availability with production schedules.

• Collaborate with Warehouse and Quality teams to ensure timely receipt, inspection, and approval of materials.

• Support Finance in verifying supplier invoices and resolving any discrepancies related to pricing, quantity, or quality.

• Track supplier performance, delivery accuracy, and quality compliance to drive continuous improvement.

• Participate in cost optimization and localization initiatives in alignment with company objectives.

• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.


Qualification & Education:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related technical field.

• Years of Experience: 3–5 years of experience in local purchasing, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.


Technical competencies:

• Strong understanding of engineering specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.

• Knowledge of local supplier market, materials, and industrial components.

• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement processes.

• Analytical skills for cost analysis, bid comparison, and supplier evaluation.

• Knowledge of quality standards and compliance requirements.
