Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated Local SEO Specialist to join our marketing team and work alongside our current associates. This role is focused on improving local search visibility for our clients through hands-on SEO execution, listings management, and optimization of Google Business Profiles. You will monitor local rankings, manage citations, and ensure our clients are consistently positioned as top choices in their service areas.
This role is highly detail-oriented and execution-focused, supporting the broader marketing team while owning the “local presence” piece of our clients’ digital marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Local link building. Source and secure high quality local links from suppliers, chambers, associations, sponsorships, events, and community sites.
- Local listings and citations. Audit NAP consistency, manage SE Ranking, research and secure new industry and local directories, pursue manufacturer and association listings, and suppress duplicates.
- Build a vetted list for each client. Industry. local. community. Track to live status.
- Local rankings tracking. Maintain geogrids and map pack tracking for priority service and city terms, diagnose stuck queries by relevance, proximity, and prominence, and document fixes.
- Spam defense. Monitor top map pack rivals. Flag keyword stuffing. fake locations. File suggested edits and redressal requests with proof. Keep a log of wins.
- Google Business Profile governance. Own complex items such as verification, reinstatement, duplicate suppression, category testing, product and service mapping, etc.
- Photo program. Curate and upload recent project photos on various directory listing platforms, organize albums by service and town, flag spam images for removal
- Collaboration. Partner with other marketing associates on broad SEO and reporting, campaign cadence and listings audits, direction for client’s next posts. Coordinate with the ads and web teams so landing pages, tracking, and local signals align.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency with Google Business Profile, Yelp, Bing Places, local listing management tools, etc.
- Strong knowledge of listings and citations, including NAP audits, directory submissions, manufacturer and association placements, and duplicate suppression.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication skills and able to be client-facing.
- Experience with geogrids and map pack tracking, with the ability to diagnose relevance, proximity, and prominence, and to document fixes.
- Proven local link building with suppliers, chambers, associations, sponsorships, events, and community sites.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Education
- Two or more years in Local SEO or closely related work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Work Schedule & Productivity Expectations
- Working Hours: Your hours will be somewhat flexible. However, we expect the majority of your time to align with "normal business hours"—Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
- Daily/Weekly Check-ins: Regularly scheduled meetings with your supervisor or team members will ensure progress tracking and open communication.
- Time Tracking: You will need to comply with our time-tracking policy to monitor productivity.
- Time Management: You are expected to work independently, meeting deadlines and maintaining focus through goal-oriented work. Daily or weekly objectives will help keep you on track.
- Task Management: You’ll be required to use our task management tool to track your work progress and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a client-facing role or customer service environment.
- Knowledge of task management tools and/or project management principles and tools.
