  • A logistics administrator manages and coordinates the movement of goods, including processing orders, preparing shipping documents, scheduling shipments, and liaising with carriers. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate records, monitoring inventory, tracking costs, and resolving logistical issues to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
  • Key responsibilities
  • Order and shipment management: Process and prepare shipping documentation, prepare purchase orders, schedule carrier pick-ups, and track shipments from origin to destination.
  • Inventory control: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels and coordinating with suppliers.
  • Coordination and communication: Work with internal departments and external partners, such as carriers and customers, to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate logistics records and prepare reports on key performance indicators, costs, and efficiency.
  • Problem-solving: Address and resolve discrepancies, such as delivery delays or damaged goods.
  • Essential skills and qualifications
  • Organizational and communication skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly with various stakeholders.
  • Technical proficiency: Familiarity with logistics software, other relevant technology, and strong data analysis skills (often including Microsoft Excel).
