Logistic Coordinator

A Logistics Coordinator is a crucial role within a company's supply chain and operations department. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the movement of goods and materials throughout the supply chain to ensure timely delivery and efficient operations. They play a vital role in managing logistics processes, liaising with various stakeholders, and ensuring that products are delivered to customers or destinations in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Shipment Coordination: Coordinate the transportation and delivery of goods, both domestically and internationally. Arrange shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
  • Order Processing: Process and track orders from inception to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment. Communicate order status to relevant parties, including customers and internal teams.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained for timely order fulfillment.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain shipping and customs documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and export/import documentation, to comply with regulations and facilitate smooth customs clearance.
  • Freight Negotiation: Negotiate shipping rates and contracts with carriers and freight forwarders to secure cost-effective transportation solutions.
  • Supply Chain Communication: Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, vendors, and other stakeholders to coordinate logistics activities, resolve issues, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Customs Compliance: Stay informed about international trade regulations, import/export laws, and customs requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations to avoid delays and penalties.
  • Problem Resolution: Address logistics-related issues, such as transportation delays, inventory discrepancies, and shipment damages, and work towards finding solutions to minimize the impact on operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in logistics coordination or a related logistics role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance (depending on the scope of the role).
  • Familiarity with logistics software and tools for tracking shipments and managing inventory.
  • Analytical mindset to interpret logistics data and make informed decisions.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address logistical challenges and find practical solutions.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining documentation and records.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Job Types: Contract, Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
