Position Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supporting efficient freight movement through a broad range of operational and logistical tasks. This role encompasses customer service, logistical planning, driver support, and dispatch functions.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Manage internal and external communications, ensuring prompt and professional responses via phone and email.
- Proactively resolve recurring freight shipment issues and ensure timely rail billing for collections.
- Coordinate pick-up and delivery timings with customers, secure necessary chassis releases, and verify container inventory with terminals to avoid unnecessary storage fees.
- Keep customers informed of any changes to delivery status.
Driver Support & Dispatch
- Optimize transport scheduling to maximize revenue and minimize rescheduling.
- Collaborate with Regional Managers to ensure truck permits are current and assist in ordering new permits as needed.
- Coordinate with customers on equipment releases and verify that drivers have complete, accurate paperwork and logs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, addressing issues, scheduling vehicle repairs, and communicating driver status and availability.
- Ensure proper use of mobile devices during deliveries and monitor drivers’ hours of service to maintain compliance with regulations.
- Monitor billing issues on completed jobs to ensure accurate customer invoicing and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain clear communication with drivers to coordinate return logistics for both empty and loaded containers, mitigating additional costs.
Safety & Compliance
- Monitor and verify driver hours of service as a compliance checkpoint.
- Clearly communicate safety protocols during daily interactions and document all safety discussions with drivers.
Team Collaboration & Professionalism
- Uphold all company policies, procedures, and values while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain proficiency in all systems, websites, and software utilized by the company.
- Demonstrate leadership through effective communication, a positive attitude, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Maintain reliable attendance and perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in customer service, dispatch, or logistics is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and dispatch software.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
