Job Description: Logistics Crew
Position Overview
The Logistics Crew member works as part of the operations team under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager. This role provides hands-on support across logistics, transport, warehousing, and event operations. The Logistics Crew ensures smooth execution of catering events by assisting with loading, unloading, setup, and maintenance of equipment and supplies, as well as supporting additional operational duties such as van washing, laundry runs, and general assistance to the team.
Key Responsibilities
Warehousing & Equipment Support

Assist in storing, counting, packing, and wrapping catering equipment in the warehouse.

Maintain accurate stock handling by logging equipment in and out under supervision.

Report damaged or missing items promptly.

Support monthly stock counts and maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
Logistics & Transport Support

Drive company trucks (3.5 to 6 tons) safely to transport equipment, supplies, and laundry.

Assist drivers in loading and unloading catering trucks for events.

Pack and prepare catering equipment and supplies for dispatch according to event requirements.

Unload, repack, and return equipment after events.

Run laundry and deliver linens, uniforms, or materials to/from staff housing or other locations.
Event Operations

Assist with setup and breakdown of catering equipment, furniture, and supplies at event sites.

Work with the logistics team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of items to event locations.

Support operational teams on-site to meet event timelines.
Vehicle & Equipment Care

Wash and maintain company vans and vehicles to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.

Assist with minor maintenance or reporting of vehicle or equipment issues.
Health, Safety & Standards

Follow all safety procedures for lifting, carrying, and handling equipment.

Wear protective gear (PPE) as required and maintain a safe, hazard-free work environment.

Comply with hygiene and food safety standards when handling catering equipment.

Support proper waste disposal and recycling practices.
Teamwork & Communication

Work closely with the Operations Manager, drivers, and other logistics staff.

Maintain a positive, cooperative, and professional attitude at all times.

Be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of operational tasks as needed.
Physical & Environmental Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, and move heavy catering equipment.

Comfortable standing or moving for long periods in fast-paced environments.

Willingness to work outdoors and adapt to varying weather conditions.

Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on events.
Qualifications & Experience

Valid driving license with clean driving record.

Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or catering events is preferred.

Strong team player with good communication skills.
