Key Responsibilities
1. Fleet & Vehicle Operations
- Plan, schedule, and allocate trips for company vehicles and hired vehicles.
- Monitor daily fleet movement, fuel usage, mileage, and vehicle performance.
- Ensure timely departure and arrival of vehicles for deliveries and collections.
- Maintain vehicle availability and service readiness.
2. Delivery & Dispatch Coordination
- Coordinate with production and warehouse teams for daily dispatch plans.
- Ensure accurate loading based on trip sheet and material list.
- Track all shipments, update delivery status, and resolve issues during transit.
- Maintain proper documentation—LR copy, delivery challans, DO, and proof of delivery.
3. Return Load Optimization
- Identify and secure return load opportunities from delivered locations.
- Coordinate with vendors, transport partners, and market sources to fill empty return trips.
- Assess feasibility based on route, weight, and vehicle capacity.
- Maintain a monthly return load performance report and % utilization score.
4. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with sales teams for customer delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with installation and customer service teams for product returns or replacements.
- Maintain clear communication with drivers for route planning and updates.
5. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all vehicles carry valid permits, insurance, road tax, and safety documents.
- Maintain daily trip sheets, expense logs, vehicle history files, and service records.
- Handle driver attendance, discipline, and performance monitoring.
6. Process Improvement
- Reduce logistics cost through optimized routing and return load planning.
- Monitor transporter performance, TAT, and cost-effectiveness.
- Recommend improvements in delivery process, loading methods, and fleet management.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations, fleet management, or transport coordination.
- Experience in planning routes, dispatch, and delivery management.
- Understanding of return load sourcing and transport market dynamics.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, GPS tracking systems, and ERP (preferred).
- Ability to handle pressure and manage multiple operations at once.
Qualifications
- Any Graduate / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or relevant field.
- 2–5 years of experience in logistics, transport operations, or fleet management.
