Position: Logistics Site Incharge

Location

Site-based (Warehouse / Heavy lifts/ Crane Ops/ Renewable Projects)

Reporting To

Logistics / Supply Chain Manager / Project Head

Job Summary

The Logistics Site Incharge is responsible for managing end-to-end logistics operations at project sites involving crane operations and renewable energy projects, including windmill (wind turbine) installation and related infrastructure. The role involves coordination of heavy equipment movement, crane logistics, material handling, site inventory, and transportation planning while ensuring safety, compliance, and timely project execution as per company policies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Logistics & Crane Operations

  • Manage site logistics for crane operations, heavy lifts, and renewable energy projects.
  • Coordinate movement, mobilization, and demobilization of cranes, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Ensure availability of rigging tools, accessories, and support equipment at site.
  • Plan logistics activities in line with windmill erection schedules.

2. Inventory & Stores Management

  • Maintain accurate records of crane spares, tools, consumables, and project materials.
  • Ensure proper storage and identification of heavy equipment parts and accessories.
  • Conduct periodic stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with project managers, crane operators, rigging teams, and site engineers.
  • Liaise with transporters for ODC / heavy cargo movement.
  • Coordinate with renewable energy project teams for timely execution.

4. Transportation & ODC Management

  • Plan and manage transportation of windmill components, towers, nacelles, blades, and cranes.
  • Ensure compliance with route surveys, permits, and statutory requirements for ODC movement.
  • Optimize transportation schedules to reduce downtime and costs.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain logistics documentation including GRN, challans, LR, permits, and gate passes.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, statutory regulations, and company SOPs.
  • Support internal and external audits related to logistics and crane operations.

6. Safety, Security & Housekeeping

  • Ensure strict compliance with safety norms for crane operations and heavy lifting.
  • Monitor safe material handling and storage practices at site.
  • Prevent damage, loss, or pilferage of high-value equipment.

7. Team Management

  • Supervise site logistics staff, storekeepers, and support teams.
  • Allocate duties and monitor performance of site logistics personnel.
  • Conduct safety briefings and ensure team adherence to procedures.
  • Supervise storekeepers, loaders, and logistics support staff.

  • Train team members on procedures, safety, and documentation.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations for crane and heavy equipment
  • Experience in renewable energy projects (windmill / wind turbine installation)
  • Understanding of ODC transportation and route planning
  • Knowledge of crane accessories, rigging tools, and lifting operations
  • Good coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple project sites
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/SAP preferred)
  • Problem-solving and time-management skills

Qualifications

  • Post Graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or any relevant field
  • Gender: Male (Required)

Experience

  • 8–10 years of experience in site logistics, warehouse, or store operations
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, or project sites preferred

Working Conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
