About the Role:

As a Logistics Operator within the manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of materials and finished products throughout the supply chain. Your primary focus will be coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, managing inventory levels, and optimizing transportation routes to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, warehouse teams, and transportation providers to maintain seamless logistics operations that minimize delays and reduce costs. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement to enhance overall supply chain performance. Ultimately, your efforts will directly contribute to the company’s ability to meet market demands and maintain a competitive edge in manufacturing delivery excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and transportation procedures.
  • Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to transportation and safety standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze logistics data and implement process improvements.
  • Forklift operation certification or experience in warehouse equipment handling.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and finished goods to meet production and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with procurement and warehouse teams to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to ensure compliance with shipping regulations and optimize transportation efficiency.
  • Track shipments and resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies in documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, prepare reports on key performance indicators, and suggest improvements to logistics processes.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Logistics Operator to efficiently manage daily logistics tasks such as scheduling shipments, tracking inventory, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office facilitates accurate data entry, reporting, and communication across teams. Strong organizational skills help prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred skills, such as ERP system experience and regulatory knowledge, allow the operator to handle complex logistics challenges and ensure compliance with industry standards. Additionally, analytical abilities support continuous process improvements, enhancing overall supply chain efficiency and reducing operational costs.
