Logistics Services Generalist - CDF (SEIU union position) Pay Grade C $18.6841

Hours: Full-Time, Minimum of 7.5 hours per day. Must be able to work flexible and/or additional hours as mandated by library operational needs.

Location: CDF Woodland Campus

Job Summary: Under the direction of a manager, perform various shipping, receiving, delivery, materials handling and processing, and/or logistical duties.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.


Experience:

  • One year experience in shipping and/or, receiving function, or one year experience in library materials processing is required.
  • One year utilizing database software preferred; SIRSI strongly preferred.

Technical Expertise:

  • Ability to set priorities, and to organize data and workflow.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to read a map and follow directions.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instruction, and to identify exceptions.
  • Knowledge of business mathematics and business English at the basic level.
  • Ability to adapt to new and updated software and procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills including use of MS Windows, and electronic communication.
  • Ability to use manual and/or automated pallet jack.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, pack and unpack materials, including, but not limited to telescopes, library materials, supplies and other deliveries.
  • Prepare, load and unload materials, including, but not limited to telescopes and library materials and other deliveries.
  • Sort and organize materials, including, but not limited to telescopes and library materials.
  • Process materials
  • Compare materials received to purchase order, packing slip, invoice, or other documentation. Identify discrepancies.
  • 6. Perform tasks using labeling, shipping/receiving equipment or software, postage or carrier equipment or software, etc.
  • 7. Perform routine maintenance on various equipment including cleaning, adjusting, lubricating, etc.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks using word processing, database, or spreadshe et software.
  • Perform tasks using integrated library systems.
  • Gather information, assist with compiling reports, maintain office records/forms and filing system as required.
  • Prepare a variety of materials such as interoffice communication, correspondence, requisitions, forms, etc. .
  • Order materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Operate standard office, materials handling and sorting equipment.
  • May attend meetings and training.
  • Performs other duties as required.
