Logistics Specialist

Job Overview

GATEWAY WAREHOUSE CO., INC. is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Logistics Specialist to join our expanding warehouse and transportation operations team. In this role, you will play a critical part in coordinating shipments, monitoring freight movement, maintaining accurate logistics records, and ensuring efficient communication between warehouse staff, carriers, and customers.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about keeping logistics and transportation operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely deliveries
• Monitor freight movement and shipment status using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and logistics software
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers regarding shipment schedules and updates
• Support shipping & receiving operations, including appointment scheduling, documentation, and freight coordination
• Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, shipment logs, and inventory updates in systems such as AS400
• Assist with dispatching operations and routing coordination to improve efficiency
• Identify and resolve transportation or shipment issues quickly to minimize delays and disruptions
• Analyze logistics data and operational processes to help improve workflow and reduce costs
• Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth daily operations
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and transportation regulations

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, or supply chain coordination preferred
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP systems, or AS400 is a plus
• Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and logistics software platforms
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $24.40 - $27.60 per hour
