Logistics Supervisor

Your Role and Responsibilities

Job Summary:

At Brenntag Great Lakes, our Dispatcher plays an essential role in the transportation department by handling direct activities related to dispatching and routing of customer deliveries safely and efficiently to meet customer requests and expectations.

Responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating the transportation operations for BGL. The Dispatcher ensures that compliance, policies, practices and procedures meet all federal, state, licensing and regularity requirements.

Job Description:

  • Create an environment that promotes employee awareness and problem solving related to safe driving and delivery.
  • Provide training, guidance and support to employees on safe and accurate delivery of product.
  • Working with internal and/or external resources and driving staff to ensure fleet is operational and properly maintained at all times.
  • Schedule, direct, and resolve activities related to dispatching, routing, or tracking transportation vehicles to ensure scheduled delivery.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that drivers comply with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, government regulations and fleet management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely regulatory and customer required paperwork/record keeping

Your Profile

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Must be familiar with DOT rules and regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment
